Thematic Sponsorship Scheme to Support Family-related Initiatives

The Family Council (the Council) and the former Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) launched the two-year "Pilot Scheme on Thematic Sponsorship to Support Family-related Initiatives" in 2016. A total of eight projects under the themes of "Parent Education", "Divorce Education", "Parent Education–Parenting Stress" and "Step and Split Families" respectively were sponsored and all projects have been completed in 2019. To continue creating and promoting a pro-family environment, as well as raising community awareness of family core values and the importance of families, the Council and former HAB launched the "Thematic Sponsorship Scheme to Support Family-related Initiatives" (the Scheme) in 2020 to provide one-off sponsorship to support non-profit making and worthwhile family-related initiatives under specific themes. The themes for the Scheme include "Divorce Education", "Step and Split Families" and "Preventing and Resolving Family Conflicts/Disputes". A total of four projects were sponsored and all projects have been completed in February 2022 with satisfactory results. The Council and the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau launched a new round of the "Thematic Sponsorship Scheme to Support Family-related Initiatives" in October 2022. The approved projects are expected to commence in April 2023 for completion before the end of June 2024.
