Good Employer Charter 2024

Human capital is one of the most important assets of an enterprise. As employees are attaching increasing importance to work-family balance, adopting good human resource management (GHRM) practices is essential to recruiting and retaining manpower in various trades and industries.

The Labour Department launched the Good Employer Charter (GEC) 2024 featuring the theme of "Supportive Family-friendly Good Employer" to encourage employers to adopt GHRM and family-friendly employment practices (FFEPs) to enable employees to balance work and family needs for a win-win situation for all. Signatories have to pledge the adoption of GHRM measures in four major areas, including caring for employees; promoting work-family/life balance; providing employment benefits more favourable than statutory requirements; and good communication with employees or their associations.

Through the GEC 2024, the Labour Department continues to encourage employers of different trades and scales to implement GHRM practices and FFEPs so as to promote employees' work-family/work-life balance. Please click here for details.
